Pet Policy Information
Most DeGuire Properties homes welcome pets, though pet policies can vary slightly by property, so please check the individual listing to confirm whether the home you're interested in allows pets. All pets must be properly licensed, up to date on required vaccinations, and spayed or neutered. Be prepared to provide documentation.
Breeds with a disposition for aggressive behavior are not permitted.
Most properties have restrictions on the number of pets allowed and/or their size — check the listing for specific details. You'll also need to provide a photo of your pet along with vaccination records.
A non-refundable pet fee applies to each pet, $300-$400 depending on the property. Pet rent of $25 may be required.
Service and Support / Assistance Animals
DeGuire Properties complies with applicable federal, state, and local fair housing laws regarding reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
A qualifying service animal or other assistance animal, including an animal that provides disability-related support, is not considered a pet and is therefore not subject to the property's standard pet restrictions, pet fees, pet deposits, or monthly pet rent.
Residents and applicants requesting a reasonable accommodation for an assistance animal should notify DeGuire Properties. When the disability and/or disability-related need for the animal is not readily apparent or otherwise known, DeGuire Properties may request reliable information reasonably necessary to evaluate the accommodation request, as permitted by applicable fair housing law.
Assistance-animal requests will be evaluated individually in accordance with applicable fair housing laws. Approval of an assistance animal does not relieve the resident of responsibility for the animal's conduct or for actual damage caused by the animal beyond ordinary wear and tear.
Residents with approved assistance animals must comply with generally applicable health, safety, sanitation, and animal-control requirements, provided those requirements do not improperly interfere with the resident's right to a reasonable accommodation.
DeGuire Properties may use a third-party screening service to assist with processing pet profiles and requests for reasonable accommodations involving assistance animals. Use of such a service does not alter a resident's rights under applicable fair housing laws.
Pet Screening
Pet Screening is a simple, secure tool that lets you store all your pet's important information in one place.
Approved applicants are required to complete a pet screening for each pet or companion animal prior to move-in. Screening costs $25 if paid by ACH and $30 if paid by credit/debit card; service and companion animal registration is free.
Registering your pet through this service comes with real benefits. It consolidates everything you need to manage on your pet's behalf into one convenient profile, including photos, vaccination records, microchip info, training history, and behavioral traits, plus a dedicated section for service and companion animals. You can easily share this profile with any provider in your pet's life, from pet sitters and daycares to groomers and veterinarians.
Your pet screening is automatically shared with DeGuire Properties. Use the button below to get started today.
